In 1962, the Yugoslavians also reached the semifinals
before losing to Czechoslovakia, 3-1, and wound up finishing
fourth. They rolled to a 9-0 win over Zaire when Germany
last hosted the tournament in 1974.
Their best recent overall performance occurred at Italia

confrontation before being eliminated via a penalty-kick
shootout, 3-2.
