AUGSBURG, Germany – The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team fell to Nigeria in penalty kicks, 4-2, following a 1-1 tie in regulation and overtime during the quarterfinals of the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

BIELEFELD, Germany – UCLA forward Sydney LeRoux scored the only goal as the U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team defeated the Korea Republic 1-0 in the final Group D match for both teams at the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Bruins lead the way for U.S. U-20 Women
DRESDEN, Germany – A Pair of UCLA Bruins led the United States Under 20 Women’s National Team to a 5-0 win over Switzerland in its second Group D match at the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Saturday. Sydney Leroux had a hat trick for the U.S. while Zakiya Bywaters had a goal. Kristie Mewis also scored for the Americans.

Chastain officially hangs ‘em up
Brandi Chastain is retiring from professional soccer. After being unceremoniously dumped by the National Team five years ago and by Bay Area FC Gold Pride earlier this year, the 41-year-old women’s soccer icon has decided it’s time.

DRESDEN, Germany --–It seems no matter what level, the United States can’t beat Ghana. The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team played to a 1-1 drawat the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Forward Sydney Leroux scored in the 70th minute to answer an early goal from the Africans.

U.S. soccer president praises Bradley, but says team fell short of expectations
JOHANNESBURG -- The fate of U.S. coach Bob Bradley will not be determined until July.

Saying that Bradley has done "a very good job" but that the team fell short of expectations at the World Cup, U.S. Soccer president Sunil Gulati Monday stated he won't make any decisions until he meets with the Bradley next month.
